Woodley Community Carnival, on Saturday 8th June, kicks off with a procession through the streets of Woodley (near Reading, Berkshire). Admission cost is only £3 for adults and £1 for children. Activities range from Smiley Train, puppet show and Charlie the Clown, for little ones, to sumo wrestling, skateboard competition and bungee trampolines for the more adventurous. At 12pm, the parade starts in Comet Way, stopping at Church Road stretching back to St Johns Church, Howth Drive, Foster Lane, stretching back to Crockhamwell Road and then passing though the Memorial Ground and finishing in Haddon Drive. For full details, check the map.
The classic car show, bands and fun fair mean that the fun will last all day long, making this, possibly, the best spring festival in Berkshire. Sunshine is forecast, so get yourself down the the beer tent or various food outlets dotted about and enjoy a fabulous family day out!
